Hi! It's me, Renae, and I'll be the main person behind our blog. We are beyond excited to be able to share with you our experiences as we pack up and move back to Zambia. When we announced our impending move, we had a high volume of people requesting that we blog about our move & work, just like we did last time. That really took no convincing, because I was planning to anyways. Above all else, we hope that our blog is a living testament to the work being done by our Heavenly Father.
At this point, we are due to move out of our home in just over 2 weeks. We are beyond grateful that it sold in a slow market, and are eager to have it all officially closed & finalized. That being said, it will come with heaviness to leave behind the first house we've ever purchased. These walls hold many memories, and I truly get the feelings of comfort, love & relief when I walk in the front door. We have lots to sell & pack before moving day! We have a gap of a few weeks between moving out of our house, and our flights to Zambia, so we will be moving in with my parents for a few weeks! Might as well soak up that time before we're oceans apart!
Many of you have asked how the kids are feeling about the move (and we appreciate you checking in!). In many ways, summer break has been a really good gradual transition for that. No longer are they seeing their friends and classmates five days a week, and that separation has made it a little easier for them to look forward to what is to come, instead of clinging on to what was. There is no doubt that they will miss many parts of Canada - the family & friends left behind, the library, their school, the mountains etc., but the summer has filled each of their love tanks to overflowing, and we're all feeling optimistic about our move!
I'll leave post #1 short and sweet. Have a look around the website! It explains how God led us to this decision, and a bit of background about all of us. Just like last time, we LOVE to hear from you, so pepper us with any questions or comments you have! Thanks!
(For those who would like an email every time there is a new blog post. just fill in your email address in the little box at the top of the blog, and you should be good to go!)
