A Bit About Us

Hello! We are the Deleeuws, and we are spending a year volunteering on a farm at the Seeds of Hope Orphanage in Zambia, Africa! The aim of this orphanage is to love on the kids, to teach them about the Lord, and take care of their physical and emotional needs. They provide the children hope, education, and opportunity! The farm has a huge variety of things it produces - eggs, fish, fruit and vegetables. We will be working alongside the Grace Farm employees, mentoring, managing staff and organizing projects.

Jon spent many hours working on the family dairy farm before he started in the feed industry. He currently works for Ritchie Smith Feeds selling poultry feed. It is the perfect job for him, combining his farming knowledge with his love of interacting with others. Jon is social, hardworking, and loyal. He loves hockey and golf, and keeping the front lawn looking vibrant and neat.

Renae is a stay-at-home mom who loves baking, gardening and exploring local trails. She can often be found with her camera out, taking pictures of the kids (or hummingbirds. She loves her hummingbirds). Renae has a strong work ethic and a heart for helping others.

London, 11, is an avid reader, loves basketball, and keeping things tidy and organized. She radiates kindness and compassion wherever she goes.

Austin, 9, is into almost any sport (especially basketball), and will run circles around you with his endless energy! He loves to joke around. He is energetic and thoughtful, with a smile that can make you melt.

Zara, 7, is sweet and giggly. She loves playing with her siblings, getting tickled, colouring pictures, and snuggling up on the couch. Zara is caring and kind, and has a hilarious sense of humour.

Ivy, 5, is funny, playful and chatty (she gets that from her dad). She loves tricking people by misplacing their shoes, popping out of a hiding spot, or anything else she can come up with. She's a great mixture of spunk and sweetness.
